The Beijing Hotel (simplified Chinese: 北京é¥åº—; traditional Chinese: 北京飯店; pinyin: BÄ›ijÄ«ng Fà ndià n) is a five-star state-owned hotel in the Dongcheng District of Beijing, China.
Construction of the hotel began in 1900 and was completed in 1915, making the hotel one of the oldest in Beijing.

Not the most spectacular picture ever, but one that is close to my heart. My first day in China, while waiting for the train to Taiyuan, I went for walk and found this nice little park in Beijing. This was my first picture. That is the Beijing Hotel.

rollei 6008 with planar80/2.8 Provia 100F - first roll through - this shot didn't turn out as I had envisioned, was the companion for my lunch shot, focussed on the table opposite when a waitress came round. Wanted to capture her in motion blur but she didn't move! So big red apron....sigh
